Rehabilitation Phase

Following detoxification, which is a primary safety concern, the rehabilitation phase of treatment can begin.  During the rehabilitation phase, when the patient’s medical condition has stabilized and they feel physically improved, the work of addressing the underlying feelings and emotions which have been masked by the addiction are given the opportunity to be expressed and felt.  Through this process, each patient meets with the Medical Director, case manager, and members of the treatment team to discuss and evaluate progress towards recovery.  An individualized Treatment Plan is developed with full participation of the patient, family and members of the treatment team. In addition, each patient attends a full program of therapy groups 7 days a week.  These therapy groups are designed to help each patient “re-discover” the self that was lost to addiction, and find the new joy of health and sobriety.  With a focus on Chemical Dependency Education, 12-Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, Holistic and Expressive Therapies, the “whole person” is given the time, space, and support to heal and grow. Approaching treatment in a holistic way, working with body, mind and spirit, we recognize that addiction is a disease, and that abstinence is the best way to manage the condition. Whether in an individual or group setting, or in our meditation room overlooking the ocean, patients have the opportunity to discover and “re-connect” with themselves and their Higher Power to unravel the complex disease of alcoholism and drug dependency.  At the conclusion of the full program patients and families enjoy the observance of a heartfelt graduation ceremony to celebrate the healing process and exciting emergence into a sober living lifestyle.
