Our approach

Inpatient services are offered to those patients who require specialized care and need the opportunity to heal and learn to cope away from the stress of everyday life. Patients receiving caring and compassionate individualized treatment, where treatment goals are regularly evaluated and adjusted to meet his or her needs. Our services utilize a recovery model and patient-centered approach and our clinical interventions are rooted in evidenced-based best practices and most recent research outcomes.

Our program

A typical day in our inpatient program is structured and includes a full day of therapy, consisting of six to eight hours of group therapy treatment and additional one-one-one therapy. Topics include cognitive-behavioral and dialectic-behavioral therapy techniques, coping skill development, mental health education, meditation, anger management, grief and loss and occupational/life skills therapy.

Our program embodies Mission Hospital’s commitment to treating each patient in mind, body and spirit. In addition to traditional treatment, we offer alternative, holistic program components including yoga, Zumba, acupuncture and spiritual care to promote healing on a mental, physical and spiritual level.

We know that when a loved one is receiving treatment, family members can also be in need of support. Families are encouraged to participate in our family education groups, which provide the opportunity to communicate, have questions answered and work through challenges with the help and guidance of a therapist.

Each patient is assigned a case manager who oversees treatment from beginning to end and ensures patients have the resources they need throughout their stay and after discharge.

We accept most insurance plans and encourage anyone in need of help to contact our Intake department to learn more: 949-499-7500.

Outpatient programs provide structured, extended mental health treatments without the need for an inpatient stay. Mental health challenges can alternate between periods of control and crisis. This is true whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress or a combination of one or more of these conditions. If the crisis is life-threatening, then inpatient care may be needed. Outpatient programs are another option for patients in crisis who are not at risk to harming themselves or others. We encourage anyone in need of help to contact us to learn more; call 949-499-7504.

Teenage son and mother embracing in kitchen

Adolescence can be a rocky time, and it's easy to understand why many teens struggle with stress and feeling overwhelmed. While it's natural to struggle from time to time, some mental health issues can signal a need for help:

  • Mood disorders
  • Self-harm
  • Thoughts of suicide
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Substance abuse

The After-School Program Intervention and Resiliency Education® (ASPIRE) is an intensive outpatient teen mental health program for adolescents ages 13-17 who are struggling with their mental and emotional health.

Through therapy, coping strategies and practice, teens develop a path for wellness – reducing the risk of turning to unhealthy or unsafe behaviors like substance use, self-injury and engagement with risky peers. ASPIRE uses a family-centered approach to support both teens and their parents through the program.
